Senior Financial Analyst

The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for driving business partnering across support functions, and other functions as required. With a key focus on workforce analysis and forecasting, the role will play a pivotal part in the optimisation of resource allocation across the business by driving improvement to existing metrics as well as developing and implementing new ones for better decision making.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with support functions, understand their KPIs and needs in order to provide insightful financial analysis including variance, trends and return on investment for better decision making
  • Working with other Finance business partners to analyse and understand key business drivers in order to optimise resource allocation across industries
  • Owning the analysis and reporting of workforce performance metrics such as utilisation and recoverability to better forecast resource allocation
  • Introduce methodologies aimed at analysing and interpreting attrition and headcount planning
  • Partner with remuneration executive in annual remuneration and bi-annual promotion processes and other initiatives to evaluate employee performance
  • Develops and supports the development of financial reporting tools using business intelligence technology
  • Support and/or drive Financial modelling and preparation of business cases as required in respect of new investments and new opportunities
  • Assist on the preparation of financial reporting for the board
  • Assist in preparation and management of annual budget and forecasting process
  • Collaborates and supports the rest of the FP&A team and broader Finance team where required on ad hoc activities

Key activities

  • Drive business partnering with support functions and their teams supporting on forecasting, analysis and providing insightful information for better decision making
  • Owns the analysis and reporting of workforce performance metrics for better forecasting of resource allocation
  • Support FP&A manager with development of new initiatives, business cases and evaluation of return on investment of allocation of resources

Experience and education required

  • 5-8 years total work experience, in wide ranging finance role
  • Previous experience in finance business partnering
  • Previous experience in workforce planning, operational performance or business analyst role
  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance or Accounting
  • CA/CPA/CIMA qualification
  • Collaborative style and structured communicator (both written and verbal)
  • Stakeholder management is essential
  • Problem solving skills
  • Experience with business intelligence tools is highly regarded
  • Experience in remuneration review process is beneficial
  • Experience or exposure to SQL coding is beneficial
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics would be beneficial
