Let us tell you about the role

The Lead Consultant is a client adviser who is responsible for delivering long-term, sustainable growth built on valued, trusted relationships both internally and externally.

This is a lead role in the true sense; You’ll manage a team of Analysts and Consultants, build strong client relationships, deliver against commercial objectives and contribute to leadership team meetings on business development.

You will leverage your existing relationships in the Brisbane market and build on our strong existing relationships.

  • You will understand and communicate how to address client business problems through analytical solutions and oversee the delivery of key projects.
  • You will also work with senior executives to realise the strategic direction through thought leadership and business development for key clients.
  • Success will see you partnering with clients as a trusted advisor to strengthen commercial relationships.
  • You will have accountability for leading Quantium’s Brisbane based insurance business and achieving revenue target.

To achieve this, you will work closely with your peers in the Insurance leadership team to develop Quantium’s offering, understand and determine its relevance to your clients and then take this to market in Brisbane.  You will be expected to grow and maintain a wide range of client contacts within the Brisbane market, enabling you to understand and respond to meet our clients ever evolving data and analytics needs. 

In addition, you will work with Brisbane Leadership to develop and implement the Brisbane office strategy, driving operational excellence, talent planning and management, and building a strong office culture aligned with the global Quantium culture.

  • Be accountable for maintaining and reinforcing our relationship with our key Brisbane based clients
  • Oversee the delivery of key analytical projects to clients, from briefing through to execution, ensuring adherence to quality standards
  • Lead a team of analysts and consultants to design and deliver analytical solutions across multiple projects
  • Be responsible for meeting revenue and profitability targets
  • Drive business development and thought leadership for key clients
  • Contribute to product development, internal knowledge sharing as well as general industry expertise through identification of emerging themes, problems and opportunities
  • Use insight to present compelling stories that deliver tangible commercial value
  • Manage people, including setting objectives and KPIs, performance reviews, feedback, career mentoring, career pathing for direct reports
  • Drive continuous development and self-learning: striving to understand how things work and continuously build new knowledge

 

Almost there. What do we need from you?

  • Significant experience and knowledge within an Analytics environment, at a lead level, with strong client facing/stakeholder management capabilities
  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering, mathematics, actuarial studies, statistics, physics, or a related discipline
  • Hands-on experience and knowledge of analytics, including data preparation, foundational analytics concepts, model development and model training
  • Experience with data engineering, working in cloud and / or big data environments would be a plus
  • Commercial acumen to understand business needs and be able suggest the commercial impacts of different analytics solutions or approaches
  • Ability to lead a technical and consulting team. Desirable: Experience having led analytical teams.
  • Stakeholder management experience including having worked with senior leadership teams up to C-suite Executive
  • Ability to proactively identify, understand and translate strategic business needs for new and existing clients to build lasting partnerships
  • Ability to translate complex analytics, insights and/or outcomes into presentations (written and verbal) to senior stakeholders (both internal and external)
  • Experience in project management and leadership
  • Experience managing and coaching the performance and development of others
  • General Insurance industry knowledge is preferred
