Procurement Specialist

The procurement specialist is responsible for ensuring the contractual and regulatory procurement obligations of Quantium across IT and office equipment. This person will provide budget and forecast submissions and tracking for all procurement activity. This person will also provide guidance and establish strong business relationships with key vendors as/when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working closely with the vendors to ensure we are achieving optimal pricing, service quality and delivery
  • Work closely with different business units in IT, Operations and Finance around procurement needs for the business
  • Manage the Merchandise procurement and inventory

Key Activity

  • For all procurement needs, source appropriate vendors and request quotations
  • Select optimum vendor, with regard to price, reputation and quality of goods or service
  • Raise purchase orders, having received appropriate approvals
  • Liaise with IT and Operations to co-ordinate delivery, installation and storage of IT and office equipment
  • For major purchases, enter into contract negotiations, using negotiation skills to receive optimum price and terms and conditions and engage with the legal department to ensure any risks for Quantium are mitigated
  • Ensure accurate and complete records are kept for all IT licences
  • Prepare budgets and forecasts for all procurement activity, and conduct monthly review on performance compared to budgets/forecasts
  • Participate in systems enhancement projects, for both procurement and as part of the wider Finance team
  • Manage procurement and inventory for merchandise
  • Co-ordinate issue of Merchandise to staff

Experience and education required

  • 3-5 years’ total work experience with at least 2 years’ procurement experience in a professional services/technology environment
  • At least 3 years’ experience in procurement
  • Tertiary qualifications in Procurement or Finance, or a similar discipline
  • Collaborative style and structured communicator (both written and verbal)
  • Stakeholder is desirable
  • Problem solving skills


  • Budgeting and cost management experience
  • Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics AX
  • Intermediate excel skills
  • Systems enhancement experience
