FAQs

Can you share a little more on some of Quantium’s projects?

At Quantium, we seek out complex, technical problems. We leverage extremely large and often disparate datasets in the retail, CPG and banking industries to solve problems for our clients that have never been solved previously. These include business problems like optimizing product offerings, personalizing customer interactions, selecting best locations for stores/branches, improving inventory forecasting and pricing for some of the biggest companies in the world

These will typically be end-to-end data science solutions, including deploying complex models that underpin decision-engines our clients will deploy. We work in fast-paced environments on transformational projects with tight timeframes, often teaming up in agile delivery squads. Our projects are diverse, and our solutions have a big impact on our clients’ businesses, shaping the direction of their industries and the experience of the customers they touch.

What will I be doing as a VP, Data Science, at Quantium?

You will be leveraging your hands-on, technical background to lead a team of data scientists. We generally have project teams of 4-8 data scientists, and you will be responsible for a similar number of direct reports. Partnering with our other VPs, you will oversee our client teams of 15 to 25 data scientists.

You will have accountability for the solution design and overall delivery of innovative, data science solutions for real world, high impact problems. In other words, whilst you will rarely be writing the code yourself, you will have the knowledge and willingness to get into that level of detail if needed and always be confident that your team is delivering high quality and practical solutions. This will go hand-in-hand with your role in fostering positive, strategic relationships with our clients and having the right conversations with key client decision-makers to ensure future commercial opportunities come to fruition.

Whilst the majority of your time will be focused on technical leadership and delivering value to our clients, you will also play a key role in designing team and workforce planning, and overall business strategy. Working with some of the brightest people in the industry, we are seeking strong technical leaders to continue fostering our positive culture that brings the best out of our people.
