What's the role?

The Lead analyst in FMCG Non-Food manages a team of analysts that service a large number of FMCG suppliers in the NonFood team, responsbile for generating a signficant amount of revenue. 

They are critical to business development initiatives in Non-Food by delivering “Analytics Showcases” to FMCG Executive audiences that drive incremental opportunities and demonstrate increased ROI to existing clients.

  • Leading a team of eight analysts transferring skills and competencies to enable the growth of the internal talent pool whilst working on client engagements. A part of the team will be located offshore meaning the candidate needs to demonstrate working with teams in multiple locations.
  • Lead a team of analyst programmers to ensure coordination across various teams who are working on the projects together
  • Determine the cost of the project, its feasibility, objectives and timelines to be shared with clients for approval
  • Work on evolving the existing analytical projects based on the change in customer needs and technical innovations in the industry
  • Managing, analyzing and manipulating data sets and then preparing insights to translate strategic business needs into commercially valuable analytics
  • Manage and build internal and external relationships across technical teams and commercial teams
  • Identify, understand and translate strategic business needs into commercially valuable analytics
  • Scope, prioritize, develop and deliver complex analysis using customer data and creating predictive modelling solutions where appropriate directly to clients
  • Be a champion for advanced analytics across the broader team to lift the overall capability and impact that our solutions have in delivering superior value to our clients
  • Be a credible technical advanced analytics expert in the eyes of our senior client stakeholders that unlocks high value commercial value for clients
  • Able to translate client business questions and communicate to ROI of analytics solutions
  • Use analytical tools and methods to interrogate Quantium data sets (SQL essential, Python or R also valuable)
  • Collaborate with other teams across the Quantium, including Product, Data Management and Q.Retail. The role will also require knowledge sharing and collaboration across other verticals in FMCG, while giving feedback to analysts, consultants and clients when needed

 

What skils and experience do I need?

  • Coding skills – Any among SQL, Oracle, MySql, PL/SQL
  • DASH or other web programming frameworks
  • Azure – cloud environment
  • GIt – or other code repository management tools
  • Documentation
  • Able to manage the workload of a team spread across multiple locations (India and Sydney, and potentially the US).
  • Working closely with Client Leads, scoping solutions to various FMCG suppliers buying and merchandising problems using customer data
  • Excellent communication skills to work effectively with multiple stakeholders from analysts, client leads and clients (senior stakeholders), to scope and deliver projects that deliver tangible results and actionable insights
  • Strong experience in scoping and coming up with new solutions using complex customer data
  • Strong FMCG or Retail experience using customer/loyalty data
  • Good project management skills and able to work with continually shifting priorities
  • Experience in both descriptive analytics essential and predictive analytics would be a huge benefit
