Role summary

This role is to lead Human Resources business partnering activities across our Global Markets business unit. This is a senior role, operating as a Lead in our people framework, and will require you to show leadership and to be comfortable providing expert advice to Executives and People Leaders. You will execute the HR plan aligned with the Quantium global HR strategy to drive HR practices consistent with global practices and standards of excellence.  You will report into the Executive, HR who will set the strategic direction for this role.  The role will also own agreed projects and initiatives that span both the tactical and cultural HR arena.

 

You will lead activities to build on the strength of a high growth / high performance.  You will drive performance and capability of employees to meet global Quantium standards. You will deliver HR outcomes that span performance management, remuneration, resource planning, employment contracts, HR policies, mobility, legislative requirements and management of HR data and processes.  You will ensure that Quantium complies with all relevant HR related legislation. You will provide coaching to senior business stakeholders and work closely with Executives to provide expert HR guidance, coaching and commercial advice. 

 

 You will be required to develop a deep understanding of the business and leverage this knowledge to anticipate HR needs and provide pro-active advice and coaching that supports commercial business outcomes, the Quantium culture and Australia / New Zealand (and where required overseas) legislative requirements. 

 

Key responsibilities

  • Execute an HR plan that aligns with Quantium global HR strategy and supports global Markets business requirements
  • Deliver HR KPIs/targets set and agreed annually by the Executive, HR
  • Expand on the HR foundations and operationalise and streamline HR processes aligned with Quantium global processes
  • Implement global HR policies and ensure ongoing full compliance with HR related legislation
  • Deliver all HR outcomes spanning:
    • performance management: manage the annual performance review cycle plus ensure that off-cycle feedback and coaching is provided to employees as required
    • promotions: manage the annual promotions cycle plus off-cycle promotions as required. Ensure process is rigorous and objective and supports global capability and performance standards
    • remuneration: work with the Global Remuneration Leader to deliver the annual remuneration review process for designated teams including salary benchmarking and incentive programs
    • resource management: assist senior stakeholders with resource allocations
    • recruiting: partner with Vertical Leaders and TA team to scope roles to help achieve BU plans
    • induction: support people leaders to ensure successful immersion of new hires to their verticals
    • employee engagement: monitor and understand employee engagement and collaborate with senior stakeholders to develop and implement initiatives to ensure engagement remains high (as measured by the employee engagement survey)
  • Partner with designated Vertical Executives to provide support and expert commercial advice on all HR related issues
  • Coach Executives, People Leaders and other senior stakeholders to build leadership capability and to support management of performance
  • Measure, track and report HR activities and performance against targets

Key activities

  • Collaborate with the Executive, HR to develop the HR plan aligned with the global HR strategy and plan
  • Collaborate with the Executive, HR to develop and agree KPIs and set annual targets for the designated verticals aligned with global HR KPIs
  • Execute the HR plan to deliver annual targets and continuous improvement/strategic initiatives
  • Collaborate with the Executive, HR and with Vertical Leads to drive and implement initiatives that bring to life and embed Quantium culture
  • Be the Quantium subject matter expert on Australia / New Zealand HR related legislation and ensure that Quantium is fully compliant with legislation at all times
  • Establish and embed HR process excellence among designated verticals building knowledge of Quantium’s HR processes and consulting with the Executive, HR to understand approaches and adopt or adapt where required
  • Identify opportunities to continuously improve and streamline HR process
  • Provide training/explain HR processes and policies to stakeholders at all levels including their roles and responsibilities
  • Oversee and provide expert input into the performance review process. Manage calibration to ensure rigour of process and validity of results
  • Provide training on elements of the performance review process including ‘how to give feedback’
  • Support and advise business stakeholders to provide off-cycle feedback and coaching to employees
  • Oversee the promotions process for designated verticals and ensure alignment with global promotion processes
  • Provide real time information to the Global Remuneration Leader on salary package trends including benefits, salary benchmarking and general market data
  • Negotiate and manage contracts for internal moves and role changes
  • Assist senior stakeholders with resource allocation including assisting alignment of individual resourcing with individual development needs
  • Support employee engagement survey for designated verticals. Analyse and interpret results and present to senior business stakeholders.  Identify issues and collaborate with the business to develop and implement solutions
  • Deliver excellent customer service and business partnering
  • Develop deep understanding of designated verticals to enable highest quality support and partnering of business leaders
  • Provide expert advice that is practical and commercial
  • Show leadership and be comfortable to give commercial advice to senior stakeholders
  • Anticipate HR related issues and work proactively with the HR Executive team to address
  • Partner with other internal functions as required to ensure smooth and transparent workflows
  • Assist with recruitment and/or other duties as required

Experience and education required

  • 7+ years HR experience, primarily in an analytics, technology or consulting business
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a senior business partnering role or leading an area within an HR function to deliver HR outcomes
  • Degree or post graduate qualified, ideally in Human Resources or Business Management
  • Demonstrable experience coaching senior/executive leaders. Coaching qualifications desirable
  • Demonstrable experience in building and maintaining trusted advisor relationships and partnering with senior business stakeholders
  • Expert and demonstrable knowledge of ANZ employment law and other relevant HR related legislation
  • Demonstrable business sense and the ability to provide expert HR advice and solutions that are commercial and practical
  • Sharp eye for detail and for identifying issues. Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Collaborative style and structured communicator (both written and verbal)
  • Strategic business knowledge and understanding
  • Experience executing BAU requirements in high volume, as well as developing and implementing projects / initiatives that improve the overall HR landscape
