The Opportunity

Our FMCG team works with about 500 clients that use scan data and around 80 that use our Checkout product, which links scan data to consumer behaviour.

This is a client facing, consulting focused sales role, for someone with CPG experience, either on the retailer or FMCG side.

This role will be responsible for building a strong pipeline of opportunities across the FMCG portfolio of products, including WOW Scan, Quantium CheckOut, and small product solutions.

We are looking for someone who can take the opportunity that being Woolworths’ data agent for Scan and Customer data brings us. Scan opens up doors for us – this role will use those open doors to unlock a range of opportunities, from small one-off deliverables all the way up to ongoing subscriptions.

You will work with a range of businesses, from those that have just launched in Woolworths and are looking to understand their sales performance, to those larger businesses that have sales data embedded within their business but are yet to expand their data use to Quantium’s customer data solutions.


Responsibilities & Activities include:

  • Execute the sales strategy to deliver agreed financial objectives
  • Manage sales pipeline – from lead generation & pursuit through to delivery resourcing, along with forecasting of opportunities to deliver against monthly FMCG targets
  • Ensure project profitability – analyse delivery v quotes and identify pricing / quoting issues and efficiency opportunities
  • Maintain Quantium’s reputation within FMCG for quality deliverables within the retail / FMCG industry analyse trends and results to optimise growth for clients and suppliers
  • Use insight to present compelling stories that deliver tangible commercial value
  • Win new business through identifying opportunities, building relationships with existing and prospective FMCG clients, and negotiating / closing business deals


Experience and education required:


  • A Retail or FMCG background is essential for the role, ideally with experience of using Quantium products
  • Experience in a Category Insights / Category Manager / NAM role would be advantageous
  • Intellectually rigorous, client focussed and able to structure solutions for clients of various sizes
  • Track record of converting pipeline and closing new business
  • Experience of Gap or Scotwork negotiation skills
  • Extensive experience with using and maintaining CRM (HubSpot ideal)
  • Highly consultative approach, with the ability to scope new work and influence stakeholders
  • Understanding of how FMCG companies can use data to shape their strategy and improve performance
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to effectively sell ideas and explain complex concepts
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced and regularly changing environment, juggling multiple stakeholders and projects
